![]() ![]() Vice Versa (also seen as VV) Does VV mean verses? 6 What does the Bible say about love is patient?.5 Who was the first person to number the verses in the Bible?.1 What does V and VV mean in the Bible?.Remember cost of trip, age and time away will determine cost too. We just paid under $600 for a 14 day land and river cruise trip. This takes time and research but you will probably be able to save money by buying only what you need or want. We DO however want preexisting condition coverage as well as the ability to choose the hospital and be flown home.especially when cruising/traveling to areas more remote and not known for top notch hospitals. We choose not to pay extra for that kind of minor expense. Some companies put a lot of that in their packages. We aren't neccesarily interested in a lot of payback for lost luggage, delays etc. We do not need big dollar medical coverage as our policy covers us fine out of the country. Not just buying the generic brand offered by cruise lines, travel agencies etc. We always save by hand picking what we need. I wouldn't buy with Viking until looking at other companies. I won't travel without trip cancellation, and we have our own medical coverage. Just for those 8 days Viking will charge $700 US and to us this is a huge part of our budget. So I am soaking up all the information you have to give! My question at the moment is about trip cancellation insurance - it's huge! We plan to do the Viking 8 day from Nuremberg to Budapest then meet up with some friends in Italy. ![]() Like the other beginner river cruisers, I am also on a huge learning curve! And I'm a beginner to all travel not just river cruises. If you could shed some light on your dates, and which way is cheaper, we could give you better advice. Don't know how old your kids are, this might be the one "souvenir" they will like if they are in college. The "stuff" ddschur is talking about could get you in jail in Germany and Hungary, so I would not take that on a cruise. We live in Central Europe and the wind never comes from one direction. I don't believe the weather story, there is no "prevailing wind" on your itinerary. 30 April to 5 May is a holiday in Holland, whereas the Hungarians still have their summer break late August until mid September. Reason 3: other national holidays and major events at other times of the year. The Bud-Ams one might be just before or after that, thus cheaper. Reason 2: spring in Holland is tulip season and attracts a lot of tourists in (the end of) March and beginning/middle of April. If this is indeed the reason you should see that the difference in spring is larger than at other times of the year, because of all the snow melting in the mountains and the current being much stronger. When you are going from Amsterdam to Budapest you are burning up more fuel because you are going upriver. On the other hand, if the weather is dicey in AMS, it could well track your cruise moving south and east.then, again, I could be wrong on all counts (?)!įrankly, I would do either way for the simple reason that it is a great experience! If you encounter dicey weather while in BUD, there is a chance it will move away from you as you travel North and West to AMS. On the other hand, the weather tends to move from west towards the east which might potentially favor a BUD to AMS route. There are some people that feel the AMS to BUD is the better route and, as one TA put it to me, you can get "stuff" in AMS to make the trip even more enjoyable.given that I haven't used that "stuff" since 1970, going to AMS for that reason was inconsequential. We did start in BUD.not necessarily by choice but the route fit with our traveling compansions schedule. I am NO EXPERT, however, I do have some thoughts re: your question.įirst, we did the BUD to AMS in Sept/Oct of last was magnificent. ![]()
